Mahi Time Letter

01.09.1981

Cabinet Office
Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
Parliament Buildings
Wellington

Dear Robert Muldoon,

I am writing to you because we want you to stop the Springbok rugby tour.

I have been reading The Press and have seen and read about some brutal treatment of protesters in Auckland and Wellington, by the New Zealand Police force. I think that this is outrageous and needs to stop.

My second reason why I feel the tour should stop is that there is too much racism in South Africa. By playing rugby against them this shows that we support what they do. Maybe South Africa are too scared to play people of colour.

Therefore, we want you to stop the tour immediately. For the best of our country.

Yours sincerely.

Bobbier, Whale and Alexis.
